CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA members buy a “share” of the farm each season. A share is $25 a week for as many weeks as you would like (8, 10 or 12 weeks).
By paying ahead of time to support the cost of seeds and labor, CSA members are entitled to the best crops throughout the season.
Buying food directly from farmers not only saves money, it also builds relationships between local families and the local farmers feeding them. This process strengthens communities by stimulating the local economy, supporting small business and encouraging healthy eating and living.
Each week, members pick up a bag of freshly harvested mouth-watering seasonal produce from one of our pickup locations in Central Phoenix. All CSA members also receive a weekly newsletter that previews what is in that week’s share and gives recipe ideas for the vegetables.
Gila Farm Cooperative asks for share donations for a low-income refugee family. If you donate money you will help a family who would not otherwise be able to afford the opportunity to eat fresh local vegetables.
You can also purchase food by visiting us at a local farmers’ market in the Greater Phoenix area.
